As part of the User Growth team, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth initiatives for TikTok and its platforms through a data-driven and results-focused engineering and product mindset. In the Organic Acquisition segment of the User Growth team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with external traffic platforms, such as search engines and major social media products, to provide TikTok's high-quality content and services. This collaboration aims to enhance brand impressions and click conversions, ultimately driving high-quality user traffic to our platform. You will lead technical directions in areas such as content mining, content understanding, web UI presentation strategies, and design A/B testing frameworks to measure the impact of these technologies on traffic acquisition. This role presents a variety of technical challenges, allowing you to explore the latest technologies used by innovative organizations and to develop a bottom-up growth strategy from scratch. As a Tech Lead Manager, you will lead and grow a business engineering team of over 10 backend and frontend engineers, establishing a solid foundation for user growth. You will leverage data to gain deep insights into our users and content systems, identify opportunities, and execute projects that drive user growth. Your responsibilities will include leading the development of large-scale software systems that power TikTok's user acquisition strategies, improving system design and architecture for high stability, performance, and reliability, and collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a business engineering team of 10+ backend and frontend engineers to build a solid foundation for user growth.
• Leverage data to understand users and content systems in-depth, identify areas of opportunity, and execute projects to drive user growth.
• Lead and develop large-scale software systems that power TikTok user acquisition strategies.
• Improve system design and architecture to ensure high stability, performance, and reliability of the product.
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work in rapid product development.

Requirements

• Experienced in building services for large-scale consumer-facing applications, preferably in search and social media.
• Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, C++.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent team communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years experience leading a backend/full-stack engineering team.
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related major.
