About the position

As a Tech Lead - Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in leading an agile team dedicated to the development of the Copyright Licensing Platform. This platform is a foundational component that will transform the landscape of royalties management. Your primary responsibility will be to guide your team in creating a system that seamlessly integrates with existing applications and functions across Licensing, Copyright, and Legal Clearance. This application will also facilitate communication with other client applications and external publishers through DDEX messaging, ensuring a robust and efficient workflow. In this role, you will conduct architecture sessions and lead code reviews, collaborating closely with your team to test features, write automated tests, and ensure that any bugs are promptly addressed. You will manage the product development process, focusing on delivering a strong product by identifying high-value work and implementing efficient sprint practices. Your ability to nurture ideas and solutions to business challenges will be crucial, as you will perform detailed analysis and scoping activities to develop the technical product details for new capabilities. You will be responsible for scheduling and leading meetings to identify issues and propose fixes, ensuring effective communication across multiple lines to achieve business objectives and project goals. Additionally, you will assist the business product owner in defining, managing, and accepting user stories, while also writing and owning stories related to technical debt. With operational responsibility for the software developed by your team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with business users, operations, and product owners to shape the future of the platform, embodying the principle of "We build it, we run it."

Responsibilities

  • Lead an agile team with performance management through SMART goals to create the Copyright Licensing Platform.
  • Build a system that integrates with existing applications & functions across Licensing, Copyright, and Legal Clearance.
  • Run architecture sessions and lead code reviews.
  • Work with the team on testing features and writing automated tests, ensuring bugs are fixed.
  • Manage product development work to create a strong product, focusing on high-value work and efficient sprint practices.
  • Nurture ideas and solutions to business challenges and opportunities; perform detailed analysis and scoping activities.
  • Schedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple lines of communication to achieve business objectives and project goals.
  • Help the business product owner define, manage, and accept user stories.
  • Write and own stories related to technical debt.
  • Have operational responsibility for the software built by the team and collaborate with business users, operations, and product owners.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Postgre and JAVA.
  • Agile Product Owner experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in delivery of enterprise software solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on team success.
  • Prior involvement with all aspects of the software delivery life cycle, including gathering and developing functional requirements, breaking down complex requirements into user stories, and managing the backlog.
  • Experience in systems integration and migration delivery.
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of software development, including programming languages and testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of business process modeling.
  • Success with applying Agile/Scrum practices on multiple projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including listening, written and verbal communication, and client-facing skills.
