The Intelligent Creation Team, which focuses on AI, special effects, and audio-video creation technology, is responsible for developing core technologies that enhance user experience. This team works across various technical fields, including deep learning, computer vision, graphics, and speech, to provide cutting-edge content understanding and creation capabilities. The team is dedicated to exploring new products that leverage artificial intelligence technology, ensuring that TikTok remains at the forefront of innovation in the digital content space. As a Tech Lead, Research Scientist in Generative AI, you will conduct advanced research and development in computer vision and machine learning, particularly in generative AI areas such as image, video, or 3D generation. Your role will involve transferring these advanced technologies into ByteDance products and collaborating with team members to explore new AI-driven products. This position requires a strong foundation in algorithms and programming, with a focus on generative model customization and multimodal generation techniques. You will be expected to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment, driving impact through innovation and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research and development in computer vision and machine learning, especially in the areas of generative AI (e.g. image, video, or 3D generation).
• Transfer advanced technologies to ByteDance products.
• Explore new products with artificial intelligence technology at its core.

Requirements

• 3+ years of research and practical experience in one or more areas of computer vision, including but not limited to generative model customization and personalization, especially diffusion models and GANs.
• Experience in multimodal and controlled image and video generation by text, audio, video, and other modalities.
• Publications in top-tier venues such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia are preferred.
• Highly competent in algorithms and programming; strong coding skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Ability to work and collaborate well with team members.
• Ability to work independently.
