Inpatient pharmacy technicians play a crucial role in maintaining medication systems within a hospital setting. They are responsible for the preparation, compounding, packaging, and delivery of medications to ensure that patients receive the correct medications in a timely manner. This position involves preparing IV medications and maintaining an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications, which is essential for patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards. The Pharmacy Technician II will have broader responsibilities compared to the Pharmacy Technician I, including overseeing multiple areas within the pharmacy and specialty areas. This role requires verifying that the correct medication is selected for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions and assisting in the training and education of other pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Technician II will also fulfill all responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician I, ensuring a comprehensive approach to medication management and patient care.
