About the position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a highly skilled Technology Product Manager to lead the development and implementation of its API strategy. This role is critical in defining and executing both internal and external API initiatives for the bank, focusing on creating a comprehensive API offering that enhances customer experience and security. The position requires collaboration with various teams to deliver high-quality API solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Define a comprehensive API strategy that supports internal system integration and external customer interactions.
• Implement and oversee robust authentication and access management controls to secure APIs.
• Develop the customer experience for discovering and provisioning APIs, including a Developer Portal with documentation and tutorials.
• Collaborate with Line of Business teams to identify customer needs and prioritize API development efforts.
• Work with Enterprise Architecture to design scalable and secure API solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams, including Engineering, to develop and deliver API solutions on time and within budget.
• Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer requirements for competitive API offerings.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor API performance and adoption, making data-driven decisions for improvements.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation and provide training on API usage and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 6+ years of product management experience, focusing on API development and strategy.
• Strong understanding of API technologies, authentication protocols, and access management.
• Experience with Developer Portals and API management platforms.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Deep understanding of customer needs and ability to translate them into actionable product requirements.
