About the position

The Tech Support Engineer - UCC & IT Ops Specialist role at Blue Yonder is designed to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This position is crucial for managing general operations activities within the US time zone, particularly focusing on O365 technologies, including Exchange, Teams telephony, E-Discovery, and Entra AD, as well as Windows VMWare, DNS, and DHCP. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, supporting, patching, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication skills to effectively identify, communicate, and resolve issues, maximizing the benefits of IT systems investments. As a Systems Administrator, the individual will receive work assignments through the ticketing system or from Lead Administrators or management. Responsibilities include performing Windows server OS installation and maintenance tasks, monitoring and analyzing system logs, providing advanced problem identification and resolution support, and ensuring the security, availability, performance, and scalability of the enterprise directory and collaboration infrastructure. The role also involves being a point of contact for internal customers, providing technical guidance and support for collaboration and directory services offerings, and being available for on-call support during off-duty hours on a scheduled/rotating basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collaboration/Microsoft 365 and Windows Directory Services administration, including the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and related technologies. They will also need to identify, assess, and prioritize security vulnerabilities in server environments and manage high-level critical user terminations. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, along with several years of relevant work experience, particularly in O365 and Azure AD/EntraAD. The role is hybrid, requiring some in-office presence and offering flexibility in work hours, with minimal travel expectations of around 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Receives work assignments through the ticketing system or from Lead Administrators or management.
  • Performs Windows server OS installation and maintenance tasks, including patching and complex issue resolution.
  • Monitors and analyzes system logs, alerts, and reports to identify and resolve issues.
  • Provides advanced problem identification and resolution support services as well as performance monitoring and capacity planning support.
  • Ensures the security, availability, performance, and scalability of the enterprise directory and collaboration infrastructure.
  • Acts as a point of contact for internal customers, providing technical guidance and support for collaboration and directory services offerings.
  • Provides on-call support during off-duty hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays on a scheduled/rotating basis.
  • Administers Microsoft 365 and Windows Directory Services, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and related technologies.
  • Supports and administers Proofpoint email gateway and security platforms.
  • Identifies, assesses, and prioritizes security vulnerabilities in Windows or Linux server environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or engineering related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 to 6 years of combined related work experience.
  • 2+ years of working experience in O365, Azure AD/EntraAD.
  • 1+ years working experience with Azure Cloud.
  • Proficiency in operating system, software, and hardware installation/configuration.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Networking (VLAN, subnetting, routing, and switching).
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash Shell, PowerShell, etc.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of professionals and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Proofpoint including SPF, DKIM, DMARC.
  • Good experience with Windows or Linux system administration and support.
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools like ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies - Private, Public, Hybrid, IaaS+, PaaS, SaaS.
