About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Enterprise Support at AWS plays a crucial role in helping customers maximize their use of AWS services. This position is not sales-oriented but focuses on being the principal technical advisor and advocate for customers, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The TAM will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs and technical challenges, providing strategic guidance and support to ensure their AWS environments remain healthy and efficient. The role involves collaboration with engineers and service teams to resolve issues and proactively drive customer adoption of AWS services.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and advocate for customers.
  • Work with engineers and service teams to resolve customer support issues.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Engage with senior leadership to discuss incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presentations to executive teams.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
  • Ability to apply technical or operational expertise to solve complex challenges.
