About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) serves as a principal technical advisor to customers, helping them maximize the value and service they receive from AWS. This role focuses on driving customer adoption of AWS services, providing strategic technical guidance, and ensuring operational excellence. The TAM collaborates with various teams to resolve issues and proactively supports customers in their cloud journey, making it a pivotal position within AWS Enterprise Support.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute technical cloud strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Represent AWS effectively at customer sites and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding operational excellence and risk management.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to plan and build solutions using best practices.
  • Proactively maintain customers' AWS environments to ensure operational health and resilience.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Development experience in a distributed systems environment.
  • Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
