About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role at AWS is designed to support customers in maximizing their use of AWS services. This position acts as a principal technical advisor, focusing on customer advocacy and strategic guidance rather than direct troubleshooting. The TAM will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs and technical challenges, ensuring their AWS environments are healthy and resilient. This role requires a blend of technical acumen and customer-facing skills to drive discussions with senior leadership and help customers adopt AWS services effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and voice of the customer for AWS services.
  • Work proactively to craft and execute strategies for customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Maintain operational health and resilience of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical needs.
  • Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and support management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Eligibility to access and support AWS GovCloud.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Experience in identifying and solving difficult challenges using technical expertise.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
