About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Ansys serves as a key partner to customers, focusing on understanding their needs and aligning Ansys solutions with their business initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify growth opportunities and coordinate technical activities to enhance customer experience and expand Ansys' footprint in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a long-term relationship with assigned accounts as the primary technical contact.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify strategic technical activities to achieve sales goals.
  • Map customer technical requirements to Ansys solutions in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Leverage technical resources to expand Ansys' presence and displace competition.
  • Review technical support activities and ensure quality goals are met through local support managers.
  • Maintain a close connection with Ansys Development for effective defect response and enhancement requests.
  • Support account-based marketing strategies to drive technology adoption and deployment.
  • Participate in field-factory interlock for product enhancement and competitive positioning.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and drive technical campaigns for complex engagements.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with a BS, 6+ years with an MS, or 3+ years with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Understanding of System Engineering, Model Based System Engineering, and Mission engineering analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical activities effectively across all physics and product lines.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Professional image and business acumen, driven to succeed.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • 12+ years of experience with a BS, 10+ years with an MS, or 7+ years with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
  • 4 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, application engineering, or consulting services.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
