About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Ansys serves as a key partner to customers, focusing on understanding their needs and aligning Ansys solutions with their business initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify growth opportunities and coordinate technical activities to enhance customer experience and expand Ansys' footprint in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with assigned accounts as the primary technical contact.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify strategic technical activities to achieve sales goals.
  • Map customer technical requirements to Ansys solutions within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Leverage technical resources to expand Ansys' presence and displace competition.
  • Review technical support activities and ensure quality goals are met through coaching and follow-up.
  • Support account-based marketing strategies to drive technology adoption and deployment.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and drive technical campaigns for complex engagements.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS, 6 years with an MS, or 3 years with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Understanding of System Engineering, Model Based System Engineering, and Mission engineering analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 12 years of experience with a BS, 10 years with an MS, or 7 years with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
  • 4 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, application engineering, or consulting services.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
