About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Ansys serves as a key partner to customers, focusing on understanding their needs and aligning Ansys solutions with their business goals. This role involves collaborating with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify growth opportunities and coordinate technical activities to enhance customer experience and expand Ansys' market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a long-term relationship with assigned accounts, acting as the single point of contact for all technical activities.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager to identify strategic technical activities to achieve sales goals.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for select accounts, mapping customer requirements to Ansys solutions.
  • Leverage technical resources to expand Ansys' footprint and identify opportunities to displace competition.
  • Review technical support activities and ensure quality goals are met through coaching and follow-up.
  • Maintain a close connection with Ansys Development for effective response to defects and enhancement requests.
  • Support account-based marketing strategies to drive technology adoption and deployment.
  • Participate in field-factory interlock for product enhancement and competitive positioning.
  • Lead opportunity qualification and drive technical campaigns for complex engagements.
  • Drive account-based marketing strategies and technology deployment including partner solutions.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience with a BS, 6 years with an MS, or 3 years with a PhD in an engineering software environment.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Understanding of System Engineering, Model Based System Engineering, and Mission engineering analysis.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical activities associated with the account across all physics and product lines.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Professional image and business acumen, driven to succeed.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration across global teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred education: BS+12, MS+10, or PhD+7 years of experience in an engineering software environment.
  • 4 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, application engineering, or consulting services.
