About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) for National Security at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role focused on providing technical guidance and support to customers in the National Security sector. This position is not sales-oriented but emphasizes being the principal technical advisor and advocate for customers, helping them maximize their use of AWS services. The TAM will engage with customers to understand their operational needs and challenges, ensuring their AWS environments remain healthy and effective. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal technical advisor and advocate for National Security customers.
• Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
• Provide strategic technical guidance and advocacy to customers.
• Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
• Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical needs.
• Drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents and risk management.

Requirements

• 2+ years of technical engineering experience in areas such as Compute, Storage, Networking, or Security.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as a technical lead in customer-facing roles.
• Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience in multiple areas such as AI/ML, DevOps, or Big Data.
• Experience in Information Technology operations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for presenting to decision makers.
• Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
• Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
