About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will serve as the principal technical advisor for Department of Defense customers, helping them maximize the value and service from AWS. This role focuses on driving customer adoption of AWS services, providing strategic technical guidance, and ensuring operational health of customer environments. The TAM will engage with senior leadership to discuss incidents, support, and risk management, while fostering close relationships to understand and address customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Represent AWS within customer environments and drive discussions with senior leadership.
  • Understand customers' business and operational needs to help them achieve value from AWS.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience in technical engineering or an architectural role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting in a distributed systems environment.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience as a technical account manager, consultant, solutions architect, or similar role.
