About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a technical relationship with clients, understanding their technology needs, and ensuring that their IT environment aligns with best practices and compliance requirements. The TAM analyzes client operations to recommend technology solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce costs, while proactively addressing technical risks and issues. This role requires a detail-oriented, client-focused individual who thrives on problem-solving and delivering technology solutions for small businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain technical relationships with clients.
  • Analyze client technology against company standards and compliance requirements.
  • Identify technical gaps and risks in client operations.
  • Recommend enhancements to client systems for improved performance and cybersecurity.
  • Proactively address technical risks and issues before they escalate.
  • Drive proactive service, maintenance, and planning to reduce reactive support needs.
  • Document client interactions and technical solutions effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, teammates, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years in a technology support environment.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure technology and performing project design and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems (hardware/software) and networks.
  • Prior Managed Services Provider experience preferred.
  • Proficient in ConnectWise, LabTech, Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, Mac OS, MS Office, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Active Directory, Group Policies, Office 365, Azure, AWS, DNS, VPN, WAN, and LAN connectivity.
  • Experience with firewalls and security, enterprise backup solutions, and business continuity solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional IT Certifications such as MS MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, Net+, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWALL CSSA, Cisco CCNA, VMWare VCP.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and specifications.
