About the position

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) role at AWS is designed to support customers in maximizing their use of AWS services. This position serves as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for a diverse range of organizations, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The TAM will work proactively to drive customer adoption of AWS services, ensuring operational health and strategic guidance while collaborating with engineers and service teams to resolve issues. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges, ultimately helping them achieve the greatest value from AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal technical advisor and 'voice of the customer' for AWS Enterprise Support customers.
  • Work proactively to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services.
  • Collaborate with engineers and service teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance and advocacy to customers.
  • Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business and technical needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 2+ years of equivalent work experience or 4+ years of related work experience.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and ability to apply them to customer architecture.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Experience applying technical or operational expertise to solve complex challenges.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Experience building resilient, secure, cost-effective, and performant systems in IT operations.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
  • Practical knowledge of 5G network architecture and troubleshooting 5G networks.
