About the position

The Technical Accountant at TPG Marinas is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations across multiple Marina locations. This role focuses on ensuring efficient and accurate management of financial resources, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, Month End closing, and P&L report.
  • Provide financial reports to the Marinas' management and corporate office.
  • Monitor and compare actual financial results to budgeted figures.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing strategies.
  • Manage and oversee the Marinas' cash flow, ensuring funds are available for operational needs.
  • Monitor daily cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Utilize financial software and systems to record and track financial transactions.
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely payment to vendors and collection from customers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and Marinas' policies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Oversee payroll processing and tax-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Lead Marinas' accountants and clerical staff.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is often preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial management, ideally within the hospitality or Marina industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting software.
  • QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
  • Knowledge of local and federal financial regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
