The Technical Accounting & Internal Controls Manager at Group is a pivotal role that combines technical accounting expertise with a strong focus on internal controls. This position is responsible for assisting in due diligence and purchase accounting procedures for acquisitions, researching technical accounting matters, and preparing technical accounting memos for key business initiatives. Additionally, the manager will play a crucial role in the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements for complex transactions. In this role, the Technical Accounting & Internal Controls Manager will also lead the execution of the Internal Controls program. This includes managing various aspects of the program such as scoping, delivery, and reporting of results. The manager will collaborate closely with co-sourced internal audit resources, business owners, the information security team, and external auditors to ensure a robust internal control environment. The position requires extensive knowledge of SEC/PCAOB regulations, COSO, and IT Audit concepts, as well as the ability to monitor an effective global risk-based internal control environment that supports both financial and non-financial reporting. Given the rapid evolution of Costar Group through organic growth and acquisitions, adaptability to change is essential. The Technical Accounting & Internal Controls Manager will lead technical accounting assessments for new products, operational changes, partnerships, or other strategic initiatives, and assist in establishing accounting policies, particularly regarding revenue recognition. The role also involves performing contract reviews, control testing, and coordinating remediation of findings identified by SOX testers and external auditors. The manager will facilitate the use of data analytic techniques to drive opportunities for control improvements and efficiencies, while also providing guidance and training to management on SOX compliance and internal controls. This position is integral to supporting special projects and the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, collaborating with Corporate Accounting, Finance, and IT Compliance teams to ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
