About the position

As a Technical Accounting Manager, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our financial landscape. We're seeking a dynamic individual to lead our technical accounting initiatives and drive excellence in financial reporting and the controls environment. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys tackling complex accounting challenges, and has a passion for implementing best practices. In this pivotal position, you'll bridge the gap between operational goals and accounting standards, ensuring Faire's financial integrity as we continue to scale. We're looking for a strategic thinker who can translate technical accounting requirements into actionable insights for the business. In this role, you will play a key part in driving towards IPO readiness, including S-1 preparations. You will research and prepare technical accounting positions for our significant accounting policies, including revenue recognition, potential business combinations, and equity-related issues. Proactively collaborating cross-functionally, you will identify and assess the accounting implications of significant transactions and new marketplace features. You will determine appropriate accounting treatments, communicate financial impacts to leadership, and ensure timely and accurate recording. You will lead the evaluation and adoption of new accounting pronouncements, collaborating with the broader finance organization to ensure effective implementation. Assisting with audits, you will prepare technical accounting work papers for the auditors and serve as the key point of contact with our external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Additionally, you will document financial processes, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures, support SOX compliance efforts, and assist in the improvement of control procedures. Participating in and helping lead essential accounting projects, including audit readiness and management reporting, you will draft, update, and maintain the Company's accounting policies. You will also provide training to the internal Finance and Accounting group on technical accounting matters and conduct and document technical accounting research related to new business initiatives and/or complex transactions. Finally, you will perform ad hoc projects, analysis, and reporting as required.
