About the position
The Technical Administrator for Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) is a critical role within State Farm, focusing on the management and support of the Life Mod OIPA system. This position requires extensive knowledge of life insurance processes and the Oracle OIPA application, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, configuration management, and providing 24/7 support for life products. The role emphasizes collaboration with various teams and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the Life Mod Oracle servers, specifically the Life Mod OIPA system in a Kubernetes environment.
- Provide 24/7/365 support for Life Products, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Troubleshoot configuration issues affecting the Life Mod OIPA product.
- Collaborate with Life Mod build teams and external Oracle teams to support the new platform.
- Resolve complex server issues and manage systems running on WebSphere or Tomcat.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Administrator or similar role, with a focus on Oracle OIPA.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy administration processes and workflows.
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, XML, XSLT, and Python.
- Experience with Oracle database management and SQL scripting.
- Familiarity with OIPA configuration, including business rules, workflows, and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
