About the position

As the Technical Architect with a focus on Data Systems in Houston, Texas for ENGIE's Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our data infrastructure aligns with and supports our broader technical objectives. This role encompasses both the depth of data systems and the breadth of technical architecture, making you a key driver of innovation and efficiency within the company. In this position, you will connect business objectives with innovative ideas on how to leverage data-centric technology solutions to unlock value for the organization. You will report directly to the Solutions Strategy Director, collaborating to define a vision for the data-related systems and processes that support our digital products, which include various internal applications. Your leadership will be crucial in designing future-state solutions and supporting the development and integration of these solutions into our business operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for defining and refining ENGIE's Enterprise Data Model, which will help establish a common nomenclature across functional teams and within our data and reporting platforms. This role requires a strategic mindset and a deep understanding of data architecture, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the technological landscape of ENGIE's data infrastructure.
  • Connect business objectives with data-centric technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Solutions Strategy Director to define a vision for data-related systems.
  • Lead the design of future-state solutions for digital products.
  • Support the development and integration of data solutions into business operations.
  • Define and refine ENGIE's Enterprise Data Model.
  • Establish common nomenclature across functional teams and data platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of technical architecture and systems implementation experience.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based systems.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Expertise in data modeling, design, and architecture.
  • Proficiency in Azure data solutions such as PowerBI, SQL Server, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Spark, Synapse, and Data Factory.
  • Proven experience in complex data analysis.
  • Experience with modeling tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
