About the position

The Technical Artist for the Metaverse at Meta plays a vital role in bridging the gap between artistic vision and engineering execution. This position involves close collaboration with diverse teams to develop innovative tools and systems that enhance the metaverse experience, focusing on performance and real-time content delivery.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop content across a range of devices.
• Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind.
• Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads.
• Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and end users through to deployment.
• Prototype, profile and optimize custom shaders.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise with at least one of the following pipelines: Procedural Generation, Environments, or Asset Pipeline.
• Experience with architecture for complex tools and pipelines with a focus on content creators.
• 7+ years of experience developing real-time experiences.
• Experience in shader languages (GLSL, ShaderLab, HLSL).
• Experience with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.).
• Expertise in at least one high-level programming language.
• Experience driving strategy and communicating clear goals and outcomes to your team.
• Expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.

Nice-to-haves

• Deep knowledge of real-time graphics pipeline concepts.
• Machine learning, and/or Generative AI workflows.
• Low-level programming experience.
