About the position

The Technical Business Analyst position at 1901 Group, a Leidos Company, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to enterprise digital transformation services. Located in Southwest Virginia, this role allows for remote work flexibility. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with clients to gather and understand their business requirements, translating these into effective technical solutions within an Agile development team. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring that the technical solutions developed align with the business needs of our clients. In this position, you will work closely with developers to comprehend their technical requirements and assist in the creation of user stories. You will gather essential technical and background information to be included in project documentation and deliverables, ensuring that all business requirements are prioritized effectively. Collaboration with developers and Quality Assurance (QA) teams will be vital to ensure that the technical solutions meet the specified business requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all solutions are thoroughly documented, reviewing and editing documents created by others to maintain accuracy, quality, and consistency with established standards. Your role will involve working with technical staff to develop documentation that requires review and approval from technical specialists and project management personnel. You will assist in preparing Technical Manuals that comply with government guidelines and edit technical documents for publication, including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, and reports. Additionally, you will review, research, and edit information for contract deliverables, ensuring that all documents meet editorial and customer specifications while adhering to quality standards. As part of your responsibilities, you will interface with team members and subject matter experts to coordinate and prepare edited drafts for delivery. Participation in the creation of presentation materials and proofreading materials prepared by other team members will also be part of your duties. Effective communication across the team will be essential to complete projects and assignments successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Work with developers to understand their technical requirements and assist in developing user stories
  • Gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables
  • Assist with prioritization of business requirements
  • Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure that technical solutions meet business requirements
  • Ensure that solutions are properly documented
  • Review and edit documents developed by others to ensure accuracy and quality of content, organization, language, format consistency, and conformance with established standards
  • Work with technical staff to develop documentation and submit for review and approval by technical specialists and project management personnel
  • Assist with preparing Technical Manuals in compliance with government guidelines
  • Assist in preparing and editing technical documents for publication, including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, and reports
  • Review, research, and edit information for preparation of contract deliverables
  • Ensure documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style
  • Interface with other team members and subject matter experts in coordinating/preparing the edited draft for delivery
  • Participate in the creation of presentation materials
  • Proofread material prepared by other team members
  • Communicates across team to complete projects and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or relevant work experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience gathering business requirements for a software development team
  • Experience working with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of development best practices
  • Proficient English grammar skills; ability to outline, write, and edit technical papers and documentation
  • Experience writing, editing, producing, and overseeing technical documents, reports, and presentations
  • Experience with Agile development tools like Redmine, Jira or Digital.ai
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a task-based/schedule-driven mindset with the ability to meet schedule timelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experienced in Agile and Scrum development methodologies and processes
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organization skills
  • US Citizenship required
  • Able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
