About the position

Optomi, in partnership with Disney, is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with Product Owner responsibilities to support the software development team that builds and maintains homegrown solutions for SREs and internal teams. The role focuses on taking ownership of the product, reducing time wasted on clarifications, and enabling the development team to concentrate on coding and delivering value. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to writing requirements, managing the backlog, and supporting teams in delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary owner of the product, ensuring that the team is aligned with project goals and deadlines.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into clear, actionable tasks for the development team.
  • Spend time gathering and clarifying technical requirements, reducing confusion, and eliminating ambiguity in communication.
  • Manage the backlog and work with development teams to prioritize features and bug fixes based on business needs.
  • Plan and facilitate sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure continuous progress.
  • Run simple SQL queries to generate reports (e.g., subscriber data and comparison reports).
  • Maintain JIRA tickets, track progress, and ensure that all tasks are well-documented and completed on time.
  • Manage and open changes in ServiceNow, ensuring all processes follow ITIL standards.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to gather requirements, document processes, and work with development teams.
  • Ability to run simple queries and generate reports, such as analyzing subscriber data.
  • Skilled in maintaining and organizing the backlog, planning sprints, and ensuring development teams have clear goals and deliverables.
  • Understanding and using ServiceNow to manage workflows, tickets, and other operational tasks.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a big plus.
  • Implementing and managing changes efficiently, without disrupting services.
  • Managing software from initial development through to deployment, updates, and eventual deprecation.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work environment (2 days in office)
  • Long-term contract (22 months)
  • Opportunity to work with large clientele and large budget projects
