About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Technical Business Systems Analyst for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role focuses on building a next-generation model development and execution platform, leveraging technologies such as Spark and Hadoop. The analyst will perform data analysis, design data models, and ensure data quality while collaborating with partners to address critical issues and risks. The position requires strong analytical skills and experience in Agile methodologies, with a focus on translating business requirements into technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Build the next generation model development and execution platform including data sourcing.
• Leverage technologies such as Spark and Hadoop for a user-configurable, workflow-driven model execution approach.
• Perform data analysis to design data models, standardizations, and quality checks.
• Highlight critical issues and risks across the program and collaborate with partners for solutions.
• Contribute to Agile routines including capacity planning and backlog maintenance.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, including budgeting and documentation.
• Review technical designs with the development team to ensure they meet business requirements and long-term strategy.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science.
• Understanding of distributed technologies like web services and big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
• Experience with Python and working in the financial domain, preferably in risk management.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodology, including Epic and Story writing.
• Strong analytical skills for technical and functional analysis.
• Excellent communication skills.
