About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Technical Business Systems Analyst for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role focuses on building a next-generation model development and execution platform utilizing technologies such as Spark and Hadoop. The analyst will perform data analysis, design data models, and ensure data quality while collaborating with partners to address critical issues. The position requires leading the translation of business requirements into technical specifications and reviewing technical designs to ensure they align with business needs and long-term strategies.

Responsibilities

• Build the next generation model development and execution platform including data sourcing.
• Leverage technologies such as Spark and Hadoop for platform development.
• Perform data analysis to design data models, standardizations, and quality checks.
• Highlight critical issues and risks across the program and work with partners to identify solutions.
• Contribute to Agile routines including sprint and capacity planning, prioritizing tasks for monthly releases, and backlog maintenance.
• Understand business requirements and lead analysis and translation into technical requirements.
• Review technical designs with the development team to ensure they meet business partner requirements.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science.
• Understanding of distributed technologies like web services and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
• Experience with Python and familiarity with the financial domain, preferably in risk management.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodology, including Epic and Story writing.
• Strong analytical skills for technical and functional analysis.
• Excellent communication skills.
