About the position

As a Technical Construction Project Manager at Tesla, you will be an integral part of the infrastructure team, responsible for coordinating projects in a manufacturing environment. This role involves working with various cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of Cell & Energy Product Infrastructure Programs, addressing technical challenges, and creating comprehensive project plans and reports for executive management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as Factory Design, Factory Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Product Engineering/Manufacturing, Legal, Real-estate, Finance, and Operations to scope out and drive projects.
  • Distill complex technical issues to their program-level impacts.
  • Develop comprehensive plans with external suppliers, outlining strategy, scope, schedule, risks, resource requirements, and cost targets.
  • Identify creative and timely solutions to address program challenges.
  • Create and develop technical program reports and engineering summaries for executive management.
  • Maintain, communicate, and present schedules for projects to the Infrastructure leadership.
  • Develop tools and analytics for project reporting to enable program teams to focus on problem-solving.
  • Support the team with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a supportive capacity preferably with an engineering organization or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics/Chemistry, or similar subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Engineering Software - Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Aconex, PlanGrid, and/or Procore.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal guidance; proactive, motivated self-starter.
