Our work depends on Technical Editors joining our team to exceed customer expectations in technical writing and process improvement capabilities while also providing process governance and deliverable management services. As a Technical Editor supporting Technology Shared Services (TSS) Writing and Process Management (WPM), you will be trusted to research, prepare, and edit technical and graphical documentation for a variety of technical systems and platforms. GDIT is committed to fostering economic growth and prosperity in Louisiana, with established operations in multiple locations throughout the state, including facilities in New Orleans, Natchitoches, and our Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, LA. This position offers the flexibility to work HYBRID going from anywhere within the state of Louisiana and be able to go to the facility as required per the program. Currently, it is 1x per week. GDIT is not offering relocation for these positions. As a Technical Editor, you will produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and conforms to client-specific style, tone, and document layout standards. You will conduct technical edits on existing legacy documentation, correcting any contextual issues, content organization, or formatting errors. You will develop process, procedure, and work instruction documentation for projects while collaborating with project leads and management. Additionally, you will create and edit easy-to-understand user guides/job aids to help end-users operate a variety of applications or documentation repositories. In terms of process governance, you will create custom frameworks that define how business processes are designed, executed, monitored, and improved. You will also create and maintain documentation repositories in SharePoint, ServiceNow, or Confluence. For process improvement, you will review existing processes and offer expert recommendations for process improvements, streamlined workflows, and simplified procedures. You will capture requirements for application development and workflow automation, and collaborate with GDIT programs and TSS service delivery lines to obtain an in-depth understanding of products or services and documentation requirements. You will clearly define documentation project scope and monitor project schedule until completion and approval, participating in special projects as required.
