About the position

The Technical Curriculum Developer for AWS Dedicated Cloud Training is responsible for designing and developing comprehensive IT training materials tailored for U.S. National Security mission owners. This role involves creating instructor-led and digital training content that effectively educates government customers on AWS services and features, ensuring the training is engaging and accessible. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, instructional design skills, and the ability to collaborate with various AWS teams to deliver high-quality training solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop IT or technical training materials including instructor-led materials, e-learning modules, and job aids.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams to create training content that educates customers on AWS services and features.
  • Utilize automated lab and courseware publishing processes built on AWS.
  • Respond to changes in products/features by revising content rapidly using agile methodologies.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with curriculum stakeholders to define learning objectives and expectations.
  • Maintain high standards for quality of work and attention to detail, conducting peer reviews for all developed content.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing IT or technical training materials.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure domains such as Storage, Compute, Networking, Security, Software Development, Systems Administration, Database Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Cloud Infrastructure, or DevOps.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate technical content into understandable training materials.
  • Experience in instructional design or technical documentation.
  • Programming experience and ability to thrive in an agile environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Degree in instructional design, adult learning, or education-related field.
  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, or project management.
  • Experience with digital content development tools like Articulate Storyline or Captivate.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Current AWS certifications (Associate, Professional, or Specialty).
