About the position

The Technical Curriculum Developer at Veeva Systems is responsible for creating innovative learning content for Veeva's customers, partners, and employees. This role focuses on translating complex technical topics into engaging educational experiences across various formats, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The developer will work autonomously and collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance training delivery methods and contribute to the ongoing innovation of Veeva's processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct instructional research and task analysis on learner and role context.
  • Apply adult learning theory to design engaging training experiences and develop associated learning assets.
  • Use modern authoring tools to build, deploy, and update courses and supporting materials in various interactive formats.
  • Ensure training content aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for clinical trials.
  • Translate complex technical subjects into clear and concise instruction for functional and technical users.
  • Manage the end-to-end curriculum development process from analysis to evaluation.
  • Work cross-functionally with SMEs and stakeholders to validate learning objectives and technical accuracy.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Veeva products and underlying technologies.
  • Develop instructionally sound assessments for knowledge, skill, and job performance.
  • Lead instruction of pilot materials in internal/external first-teach and Train-the-Trainer classes.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of course lab environments and data sets for case studies and lab exercises.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to drive projects with accuracy and transparency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and enhance training delivery methods.
  • Provide solutions and bring innovation to training and enablement strategy.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of curriculum development experience, including writing technical learning content for software products.
  • Expertise using tools to create and publish interactive courseware (e.g., Articulate 360, TechSmith Camtasia).
  • Excellent written, visual design, and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the life sciences industry, specifically in Clinical Operations.
  • Consistent track record of accountability in delivering quality projects on time.
  • Ability to collaborate and work independently in a high-performing team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships across business lines.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to flexibly take on new challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field.
  • Certifications in instructional design or curriculum development (e.g., ATD, CPTD).
  • Knowledge of safety data management systems and regulatory frameworks like GxP and ICH guidelines.
  • Experience with Veeva products or similar life sciences SaaS platforms.
  • Shareable work portfolio of previously developed course materials.
