About the position

The position involves designing, developing, and maintaining technical learning content and curricula for various cloud roles, including ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Developers. The role is part of the PeopleDev team at Google, which focuses on providing resources for personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will translate complex technical content into effective learning solutions, leveraging their understanding of cloud computing technologies and instructional design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop creative, learner-centered training content for on-demand, instructor-led, and blended training.
  • Build associated assets including labs, videos, facilitator guides, and other resources.
  • Analyze Google Cloud AI/ML technologies to understand services and develop effective training for customers.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Portfolio Managers, and other partners to support initiatives.
  • Ensure and deliver best practices standardization across all projects, content, and curricula.
  • Perform needs and task analysis, scope projects, and evaluate existing documentation to identify appropriate training approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Architecture.
  • 4 years of experience in Machine Learning or related discipline.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • 2 years of experience as a technical instructor or in technical training curriculum development.
  • Experience with writing and editing learning content, including explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or Professional certification in Cloud ML Engineer or Cloud Architect.
  • Experience creating and managing experiential learning (i.e. labs) by collaborating with technical subject-matter experts and managers.
  • Experience in Python coding, with experience using data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, etc.) and creating Jupyter notebooks.
  • Experience building and managing ML pipelines.
