About the position

The Inside Technical Customer Support Engineer - Inside Applications position at a leading technology company involves providing essential technical support across a wide range of technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving fundamental technical questions and leveraging AI tools to enhance first contact resolution rates. This role is critical in ensuring that customers receive timely and effective support for the company's diverse family of data acquisition (DAQ) systems, function generators, digital multimeters (DMM), DC/AC power supplies, electronic loads, frequency counters, source measurement units (SMU), oscilloscopes, and application/test automation software. The position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and is a 24-month assignment with a commitment of 40 hours per week. In this role, the engineer will ensure that customer interactions are handled with a high level of satisfaction, working collaboratively with a team of engineers to address new support requests promptly. The engineer will utilize a case management system to track customer interactions, document resolutions, and publish knowledge articles and FAQs on the Support Portal. This will empower customers to find answers to their test and measurement challenges independently. Continuous development of technical expertise is essential as new products are introduced, and the engineer will also be responsible for creating pre-sales leads by translating customer technical needs into specific product offerings. Responsibilities

  • Resolve fundamental technical questions across a broad technology range, and leverage AI tools to increase first contact resolution.
  • Deliver technical and application support on the company's families of data acquisition (DAQ) systems, function generators, digital multimeters (DMM), DC/AC power supplies, electronic loads, frequency counters, source measurement units (SMU), oscilloscopes, application/test automation software, and software licensing.
  • Ensure customer interactions are handled with a highly satisfying level of customer service.
  • Work with a team of engineers to ensure new support requests are worked in a timely manner.
  • Use a case management system to track customer interactions, document each case resolution, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Publish knowledge articles and FAQs on our Support Portal that enable customers to locate answers to their test and measurement challenges when they need them.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise as new products are made available to customers.
  • Create pre-sales leads and opportunities, translating customer technical needs into specific product offerings.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of applicable experience as an application engineer, design validation engineer, or test engineer.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or any other similar equipment.
  • Military PMEL/TMDE (metrology) experience a plus; experience with/supporting defense/military customers a plus.
  • Experience in the use of electronic test and measurement instruments and test automation software.
  • Prior soft skills experience is a plus as this is a customer-facing position.
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers; experience in technical sales and/or customer service skills.
  • Programming skills that may include .NET, C#, C++, VB, and Python.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical subjects over the phone and through email.
  • Self-motivated to investigate and learn about products and their applications.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in assisting multiple customers every day.
  • Assist in on-boarding and qualification training of Frontline Application Engineers.
  • Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese communication skills are a plus, as we support international customers.
