About the position

The Technical Data Management (Mechanical) Engineer position is an entry-level role within the Sales Engineering department at Coperion, primarily focused on mechanical engineering. This role supports the Sales department by assisting in the quoting process for industrial baking equipment and auxiliary equipment sourced from external suppliers. The engineer will be responsible for specifying and organizing costs for machine components, collaborating closely with various departments to ensure accurate and efficient proposal development.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update standard industrial equipment proposal templates regarding technical content.
• Create and maintain generic auxiliary equipment specification templates for budget quotes.
• Write special technical descriptions as needed.
• Utilize company software programs, including Global Shop ERP and AutoCAD, for data management.
• Assist sales by searching for reference information such as drawings, manuals, and material costs.
• Review accuracy of equipment costs spreadsheets with engineering, purchasing, and operations.
• Maintain customer order and quote folders for correspondence and specifications.
• Create process flow equipment block diagrams for complex proposals.
• Direct and assist engineering in creating equipment drawings and layouts when required.
• Attend order handoff meetings to communicate details of sold orders for project implementation.
• Engage with mechanical and electrical engineering resources for learning and collaboration.
• Discuss cost-efficient solutions with engineering and sales teams.
• Consult with customers to understand technical needs and provide suitable solutions.
• Potentially visit process plants and construction sites.
• Attend trade shows and technical meetings to stay updated on industry technology.
• Organize and conduct technical presentations with suppliers for Sales and Engineering.
• Work closely with the engineering group manager and other technical personnel.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree of Science in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in engineering, technology, and/or sales of capital goods, such as industrial machinery.
