About the position

As an Application Development Strategic Cloud Engineer for Public Sector Professional Services supporting the Service Delivery team for the Global public sector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers derive maximum value from their Google Cloud Platform investments. This position requires leveraging both technical expertise and exceptional customer service skills to create a compelling customer experience that enables success with Google Cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring quality in customer engagements, developing relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, and helping your team meet the technical requirements and business goals of customers. Your focus will be on successful delivery and execution of customer engagements, leading by example to ensure customer success in your region. In this role, you will act as a key strategic advisor, creating a center of excellence around cloud Application Development technologies. This includes overseeing the hiring, onboarding, and management of both full-time employees and contingent workforce. You will also help establish processes to drive the Service Delivery application development strategy to support business needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for app development-related pre-sales Statement of Work (SoW) support and approval activities, serving as the primary point of contact with regional teams for any data-related needs. Your responsibilities will also include managing processes to create reusable artifacts for public sector business and collaborating with other Service Delivery teams to establish global processes for compliance or private cloud-related solutions tailored to the needs of targeted customers. You will be expected to present technical materials effectively to diverse stakeholder groups and engage effectively with executives of large enterprises on both technical and non-technical matters. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to navigate complex technical environments to deliver high-impact solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality for customer engagements and develop relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Present technical materials effectively to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Engage effectively with executives of large enterprises on both technical and non-technical matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in system design or one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, etc.).
  • 6 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  • Experience architecting, developing or maintaining public Cloud solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience translating business requirements into technology solutions for customers adopting cloud solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with channel partners, systems integrators and third-party developers to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Experience in application/workload migration to public cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform.
  • US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
