About the position
The Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) for the Water Services Group (WSG) at CDM Smith is a senior leadership role focused on delivering high-quality technical services and products. The TDM is responsible for staff development, financial performance, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This position involves collaboration with various teams to achieve operational goals and foster the growth of future leaders within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and commit staff for specific assignments in coordination with Regional Team Leaders and other units.
- Control non-chargeable salaries, operating income, and indirect expenses to achieve targeted profit margins.
- Coordinate with other Technical Delivery Managers and Regional Team Leaders to share work and staff across geographic boundaries.
- Oversee technical excellence and compliance with Quality Management and Health and Safety procedures.
- Develop and grow future leaders by engaging in technical development programs and assigning mentors.
- Participate in Technical Knowledge Management and ensure active participation from staff.
- Assign Project Manager in-Training coaches in coordination with Client Services and Regional Team Leaders.
- Work closely with Delivery Leaders, Practice Leaders, and Sales Leaders on hiring and market strategies.
- Provide input to the Technical Services Unit's annual business and profit plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 15 years of related experience.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
