About the position

The Technical Design Project Architect at Emotive Architecture, PLLC is responsible for overseeing the detailed aspects of architectural projects from concept to completion. This role involves designing and specifying building systems, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and ensuring the timely and profitable completion of projects. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor team members while maintaining a focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Studio Director/Senior Project Manager in ensuring quality control and best practices.
  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with various consultants.
  • Monitor the design process from conception to construction administration to ensure consistency of design ideas.
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve design and complex challenges.
  • Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction.
  • Research new items/materials/concepts/software for implementation on projects.
  • Independently perform assignments and arrive at solutions.
  • Write project manuals and specifications if necessary.
  • Review accuracy of calculations, estimates, plans, and completed reports.
  • Engage with municipal building departments and government agency officials for approvals.
  • Handle minutes of consultant coordination meetings.
  • Participate in business development meetings to target specific markets, clients, or project opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience working on large scale commercial and/or large-scale residential buildings.
  • Work portfolio reflecting ability to produce sophisticated and detailed construction documents.
  • Strong technical acumen and creativity in architectural design.
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensure is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with ArchiCAD is preferred.
