About the position

The Technical Director for Private Sector Development at Cadmus will lead technical assignments and champion business development efforts across various programs. This role involves providing thought leadership on private sector development issues, engaging with stakeholders, and integrating data analytics and learning into international development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical leadership on private sector development issues, including trade and export promotion.
  • Lead technical assignments across a range of private sector development issues on Cadmus' current programs.
  • Provide expertise on data analytics and learning integrated into international development projects.
  • Engage with high priority stakeholders in government and private sectors to address emerging challenges and explore partnerships.
  • Advise and lead assigned activities, coordinating with clients, partners, and USAID.
  • Undertake co-creation and collaborate on thought leadership across projects.
  • Contribute to USAID reporting requirements and information requests.
  • Prepare terms of reference for technical assistance activities for designated projects.
  • Develop learning strategies across the international development division and build capacity for integration into projects.
  • Lead business development efforts within trade and private sector development issues.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, international development, international affairs, policy, or a relevant field with 10 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in private sector development, data, analytics, and/or learning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with USAID-funded projects and proposal efforts.
  • Experience liaising with public and private sectors in diverse roles, preferably in the Asia region.
  • Advanced understanding of private sector development, data, analytics, learning, and USAID programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and manage diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; strong preference for French or Spanish language skills.

  • Experience in developing countries, particularly in the Asia region.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to development experts.
