About the position

The Document Validation Specialist (DVS) at AECOM plays a crucial role in supporting FEMA's Public Assistance Program by validating grant applications for disaster recovery projects. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that all documentation related to completed disaster-related work is accurate and comprehensive. The DVS is responsible for developing project descriptions, scopes of work, and cost estimates, as well as preparing Requests for Information (RFIs) when necessary. The role is fully remote and requires participation in daily meetings and regular reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Validate PA grant applications for disaster recovery projects in the Completed Lane within FEMA's PA delivery model.
  • Develop project descriptions, scopes of work, and cost estimates for disaster-related work.
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) when additional information is required.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings and complete required reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Utilize FEMA's Grants Manager system to assign and track actions throughout PA project development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related technical experience in the design and/or construction of public infrastructure.
  • Experience in engineering, architecture, cost estimation, or construction management, or equivalent experience/education.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust.
