About the position

The Technical Editor/Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing technical documents such as manuals and specifications. This role requires collaboration with product developers and engineers to ensure clarity and accuracy in technical communication. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite in Orlando, FL, and may involve occasional domestic travel.

Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents including manuals and specifications.
• Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and engineers.
• Oversee preparation of illustrative materials and Illustrated Parts Breakdown material.
• Conduct and participate in project team meetings and meet deadlines as determined by project schedule.
• Conduct quality review of materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
• Minimum 5 years experience with MS Office, MS Word, and Acrobat Authoring Tools.
• Minimum 5 years experience writing highly technical content for procedure manuals and related publications.
• Minimum 5 years experience with technical subject matter content through interviews and reviews of technical specifications.
• Ability to plan writing and editing tasks required to complete projects.
• Ability to manage project technical writing work from book plan creation through delivery.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience working effectively with teams and independently.
