About the position

BAE Systems is seeking Technical Editors to support government customers in a classified environment. The role involves reviewing intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, syntax, logic, clarity, and consistency, ensuring compliance with agency publication standards and style guides. The Technical Editors will also edit various documents, summarize numerical data, ensure proper classification markings, and collaborate with authors to enhance product narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Review intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Ensure logic, clarity, and consistency in documents.
  • Confirm style and format conform to agency publication standards.
  • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, and special reports.
  • Summarize numerical data to generate information for solving intelligence problems.
  • Ensure proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance.
  • Work with authors to revise products for narrative organization and negotiate further revisions as needed.
  • Collect and organize information for user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and other reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related intelligence area with 8+ years of experience in the intelligence field and technical editing experience within the last 2 years, or 10+ years of experience for mid-level.
  • Master's degree in a related intelligence area with 12+ years of experience in the intelligence field and technical editing experience within the last 2 years, or a Bachelor's degree with 17+ years of experience for senior-level.
  • Prior military or government analytical experience.
  • Prior experience in Information Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate of Government OSINT Training courses (e.g., U.S. Army OBC, OS301/OS302, CASO, defense or IC equivalent).
  • Experience conducting intelligence analytical support for the IC/DoD.
