About the position

The Technical Editor position at S4 Inc. involves supporting USSTRATCOM JCER missions by providing essential planning, analysis, spectrum management, and intelligence support. The role includes technical writing, document management, and ensuring compliance with writing standards for various documentation related to Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting data collections during evaluation planning, execution, and analysis.
  • Assisting in data reduction and transcription.
  • Coordinating with web developers to ensure web applications are developed, documented, and current regarding application and content.
  • Assisting JCER leadership in identifying areas of opportunity to improve gaps in knowledge flow and storage.
  • Developing briefings, talking papers, scripts, and/or other communication mediums to ensure JCER is aware and adhering to content and standardized business processes.
  • Developing and maintaining processes to standardize JCER file naming conventions, templates, and data with appropriate writing instructions, guides, and templates for various document types.
  • Maintaining the organization's information management plan (IMP).
  • Codifying information systems tools and procedures including collaborative planning tools.
  • Addressing information sharing and collaboration requirements with interorganizational agencies, coalition, and mission partners.
  • Codifying processes to gain and share information with all stakeholders in and out of your communications network.
  • Codifying RFI management procedures and addressing system recovery and outage mitigation procedures.
  • Assisting in standardizing standard business rules for data and information management.
  • Identifying information assurance requirements and procedures.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in technical writing for organizations conducting developmental or operational evaluations.
  • Experience in reviewing, proofreading, and editing documentation for grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and accepted English usage.
  • Ability to manage the document preparation, coordination, and archival process including writing, editing, proofing, and assuring policy compliance regarding format.
  • Experience in developing writing and/or editing policies, guidelines, and templates.
