About the position

ANSER has an immediate opening for a Technical Editor/Communication Specialist in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development Directorate at Fort Belvoir, VA. The analyst in this role will develop communications and marketing materials as well as provide technical editing and writing support. This position requires the ability to interface with high-level military, government, intelligence, and corporate personnel. Work will be conducted from the client site or from the contractor site. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience as an author and/or editor for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) intended for Director's approval and signature. In this role, you will serve as a focal point for matters related to written media, communications services and products, and web presence for the Research and Development Directorate. You will manage adherence to a style guide for all branding and messaging and lead revisions and updates to the Directorate's style guide. Additionally, you will develop and revise editorial/communications standard operating procedures and support additional activities requiring the above skills, such as preparing newsletters and developing workshop and training materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop communications and marketing materials for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
  • Provide technical editing and writing support for official documents and written packages.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree plus 3-5 years of experience or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Expert with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and readiness to help in new areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with the role of the R&D Directorate within the DoD acquisition lifecycle framework and the technology transition process.
  • Familiar with military operations in CBRN environments.
  • Experience with CATMS or other tasker management system.
