About the position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled individual to join our dynamic team as a Technical Editor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our programs' success by ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of technical documentation. As a Technical Editor, you will play a critical role in reviewing, revising, and editing a wide range of documents prepared by various teams. Your expertise will be essential in refining installation instructions, updating training materials, and enhancing other technical documents to meet the highest standards of precision and readability. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers to ensure that all content is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicates complex information to the intended audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and editing, with exceptional attention to detail and a deep understanding of technical terminology and document formatting. Your ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines will be key to your success in this role. This position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance and a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or communications preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy, consistency, and overall excellence of technical documentation. You will utilize your advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to create, format, and edit complex technical documents, ensuring clarity and adherence to project standards. Your in-depth knowledge of Department of Defense standards and industry-specific technical terminology will enable you to communicate effectively across specialized content, making you an invaluable asset to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Review, revise, and edit a wide range of technical documents prepared by various teams.
  • Refine installation instructions and update training materials to meet high standards of precision and readability.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers to ensure content accuracy and clarity.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and consistency of technical documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to create, format, and edit complex technical documents.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on professional experience in technical writing and editing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in producing and refining technical documents for projects of comparable size and complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of Department of Defense standards and industry-specific technical terminology.
  • Extensive experience in implementing quality assurance processes for technical documentation.
  • High-level expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in creating and editing complex documents.
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, or communications preferred.
