About the position

The Technical Enablement Developer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for creating and curating high-quality learning experiences for the technical field, including solutions architects and customer solutions managers. This role combines content design, technical writing, and interpersonal skills to develop enablement content that meets the evolving needs of AWS's technical teams. The developer will work collaboratively with subject matter experts to ensure the training is technically accurate and effectively delivered across various modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Build enablement content for the technical field using various learning methods including microlearning and traditional training.
  • Collaborate with audience representatives and subject matter experts to understand training needs and develop accurate training materials.
  • Lead working sessions with project stakeholders to drive innovative design solutions.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including content development, reviews, and publishing.
  • Propose innovative approaches to training that leverage automation, scale, and generative AI.
  • Become an internal subject matter expert on AWS solution development and customer support to create relevant enablement content.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum/training design/development or enablement design/development.
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical subject matter and/or AWS Cloud services, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • 3+ years of experience developing various types of learning content using authoring tools like Articulate 360, Lectora, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • 2+ years of writing/editing experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification (Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer).
  • 1+ years of experience using generative AI for training development.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT domains.
  • Graduate certificate or degree in instructional design or adult learning.
  • Degree or certificate in a technical field or 5+ years of experience in a technical industry.
  • 4+ years of experience conducting quality analysis reviews of instructional materials.
  • Experience with LMS architecture and deployment.
