The Technical Engineer, Hardware Qualification role at NIKSUN is a pivotal position that focuses on the development and integration of FPGA designs using hardware description languages such as Verilog and VHDL, as well as high-level synthesis techniques. This position is essential for ensuring that the company's cutting-edge forensics, compliance, security surveillance, and performance management solutions are optimized for performance and reliability. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accelerated logic targeting FPGAs, which involves a deep understanding of FPGA design files and the ability to integrate proprietary IP designs effectively. As the hardware landscape continues to evolve rapidly, the Technical Engineer will need to stay updated on the latest advancements in optimized front ends and peripherals. This requires a proactive approach to learning and integrating new technologies into existing systems. Additionally, the role involves creating comprehensive IP datasheets and documentation, which are crucial for maintaining clarity and consistency in design specifications. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all hardware components meet the required specifications and performance benchmarks. In this role, the engineer will also be tasked with developing and maintaining test benches for both new and existing IPs, ensuring that all designs are rigorously tested and validated before deployment. The ability to troubleshoot and refine designs to achieve timing clean images is essential, as is the experience in building multi-clock domain logic designs. Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate FPGA designs using Verilog/VHDL and HLS techniques.
  • Create accelerated logic targeting FPGAs.
  • Parse through FPGA design files and integrate proprietary IP designs.
  • Stay updated on optimized front ends and peripherals for hardware integration.
  • Create IP datasheets and documentation for design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain test benches for new or current IPs.
  • Troubleshoot and refine designs to create timing clean images.
  • Build multi-clock domain, synchronize and a-synchronize logic designs.
  • Evaluate and create design documentation/datasheets.

Requirements

  • Experience in FPGA Front End integration: MAC, PCIe, Peripheral devices.
  • Experience with DDR4/HBM memory interfacing.
  • Experience with high-speed DMA transfer via PCIe.
  • Experience in Testbench development: Develop and maintain test-benches for new or current IPs.
  • Experience in developing acceleration logic for proprietary algorithms.
  • Experience in targeting/retargeting designs to FPGA boards.
  • Experience coding and ability to understand Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog and C.
  • Experience in building and troubleshooting designs to create timing clean images.
  • Experience in building multi-clock domain, synchronize and a-synchronize logic designs.
  • Experience in evaluating and creating design documentation/datasheets.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of industry experience.
