About the position

The Technical Engineer (Mechanical/Process) at Safran Helicopter Engines is responsible for managing the repair of helicopter engine assets, focusing on cost reduction and customer satisfaction. This role involves evaluating technical documents, coordinating repairs with various centers, and leading initiatives to optimize inventory value and repair processes. The engineer will also participate in projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing turnaround times (TAT).

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requests to define appropriate support methods.
  • Assist Fleet Asset Management Specialist with customized requests to meet technical criteria and budget.
  • Validate repair levels, scopes, and associated repair centers, focusing on cost optimization and engine availability.
  • Coordinate the repair of Pool materials with Safran Repair sites and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and approve work scopes and technical reports, ensuring cost reduction objectives are met.
  • Track and report repair costs, justifying any costs above objectives.
  • Minimize work scope revisions through proactive decision-making processes.
  • Facilitate meetings with repair shops and teams to ensure TAT goals are met.
  • Update the pool database to reflect engine status in stock.
  • Propose additional invoices for missing parts or unusual wear based on technical reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation mechanical, engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical position.
  • Advanced mechanical and technical skills tailored to organizational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with advanced spreadsheet skills (pivot tables, charts, formulas).
  • Experience in delivering results under pressure and making decisions.
  • Ability to work across cultures with sensitivity to local issues.
  • Lean sigma or project management certification is a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, autonomy, and proactivity.
