About the position

The Technical Engineering Manager for the Generative AI team at AIG will lead the integration of innovative AI capabilities into the company's software portfolio. This role is pivotal in driving the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to create scalable, cloud-native solutions that address complex business challenges. The manager will oversee a global engineering team, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and integration of AI-powered applications while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage a global engineering team to ensure successful design, implementation, testing, and integration of AI-powered applications using Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Lead software development and drive best practices around modern software design, scalability, and cloud-native architectures.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, managing technical debt and risk, and providing creative solutions for smooth project execution.
• Oversee team activities, set priorities, and guide the team to meet key project objectives with minimal oversight.
• Support career development by mentoring and fostering growth within the engineering team.

Requirements

• Expertise in the software development lifecycle with significant experience in Agile and DevOps processes, ideally in AWS, Java, and Python environments.
• Deep understanding of building scalable cloud-native applications and modern concurrency principles.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases and familiarity with modern web application frameworks.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system monitoring for production environments.
• Strong track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams, helping them achieve their goals.
