About the position
The Technical Field Representative role is a full-time position based in Chicago, IL, focused on providing training, inspections, and support for roofing projects. The representative will work closely with applicators and sales teams to ensure high-quality installations and compliance with warranty requirements. This position requires regular travel within the region and involves hands-on product demonstrations at trade shows.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and certification for new applicators.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and technical manuals.
- Conduct job-start, interim, and final inspections for projects within the warranty program.
- Complete inspection reports with photos for project documentation.
- Monitor the workmanship of applicators to ensure high-quality installations.
- Approve project sign-offs to meet warranty requirements.
- Install project-specific mock-ups and prepare samples.
- Conduct hands-on product demonstrations at trade shows.
- Assist the sales team by evaluating site conditions and selecting appropriate assemblies.
Requirements
- Must have roofing experience.
- Ability to read and write English fluently.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
