About the position

The Technical Illustrator position at DirectViz Solutions, LLC involves creating, editing, and maintaining detailed technical equipment illustrations for a large Department of Defense (DoD) team. The role requires proficiency in various CAD software programs and the ability to produce illustrations that meet specific government standards and style sheets. The position is based in Huntsville, AL, and requires an active secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain detailed technical equipment illustrations from photographs, engineering drawings, and physical inspections.
• Produce illustrations in a specific format for use in Army Publications using CAD software programs.
• Ensure all illustrations meet government specifications and standards as per provided style sheets.
• Work individually or collaboratively on shared work packages.
• Provide a portfolio of related illustrations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and CorelDraw.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience with Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software applications.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with IsoDraw Software.
• Knowledge of Interactive Authoring and Display Software.
• Ability to interface with customers to resolve graphical specifications.
