Our client, a Manufacturing / Retail company for retail luxury cosmetic brands, is currently seeking a Technical Illustrator/Pre-Press Technician to join their team Fulltime! This position is onsite 5 days per week in Melville, Long Island. Your hours will be 8:30-5:30PM. Must be able to commute to Long Island. As a Technical Illustrator/Pre-Press Technician, you will be responsible for prepress preparation, which includes reviewing and preparing digital files for printing, ensuring they meet all technical specifications. You will adjust colors, fonts, and layout as necessary to ensure optimal print quality. Additionally, you will perform file conversions and preflight checks to identify and resolve any issues before printing. Managing and ensuring color accuracy across different printing processes will be a key part of your role, utilizing color matching techniques to achieve consistent results. Collaboration with graphic designers, printers, and production teams will be essential to ensure a seamless workflow and accurate output. You will also manage file storage and archiving according to company standards. In terms of technical illustration, you will create detailed technical illustrations for assembly instructions, product manuals, and other documentation. This involves translating complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand visual content. You will work closely with product engineers and designers to ensure that illustrations accurately represent the product and its assembly process, updating and revising technical illustrations as needed based on product changes or feedback. Quality assurance is another critical aspect of this role. You will conduct thorough checks of all prepress files and technical illustrations to ensure accuracy and consistency. Utilizing your color matching skills, you will ensure that printed materials align with brand colors and specifications, maintaining consistency across all products. You will also provide feedback and recommendations for improvements in both prepress processes and technical illustration practices. Collaboration and communication are vital in this position. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to meet project deadlines. Effective communication with internal stakeholders will be necessary to resolve any issues related to prepress, technical illustrations, or color accuracy. Participation in project meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and workflows will also be expected.
